Program overview
Physical Therapy Services Sports Performance Center is designed to address an important need for student athletes beyond formal physical therapy rehabilitation. Many athletes complete rehabilitation but still need supervised sport-specific preparation before returning to their activity.
The program can also supplement an athlete's rehabilitation with on-site Licensed Athletic Trainer supervision and access to the PTS clinic gym. It was created with student athletes and limited financial resources in mind through a nominal access fee.
Physical Therapy Services (PTS) Sports Performance Center is a community-service program specifically designed to address an identified need for the student athlete beyond the scope of physical therapy rehabilitation. Oftentimes, a student athlete completes formalized physical therapy rehabilitation but is not ready to return to their specific sport. This program is also designed to supplement a student athlete’s formalized physical therapy rehabilitation with on-site Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) supervision. PTS recognizes that there is a gap in the continuum of care between discharge from formalized rehabilitation, safe, and confident return to sports.
This community service program targets student athletes with the recognition of limited financial resources by implementing a nominal cost to access our clinic gym facility and on-site LAT.
